New Phorge Trigger Sounds
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

It would be nice to propose a new Trigger sound for the 2023.

The Winner is…?

Well, why not, this is the current candidate for Phorge core:

D25079: Trigger: Add Sound "Coin"

Candidates

Here my best 3 proposals:

Feel free to add more. Acceptance criteria:

  • short (less than 1 second)
  • not clipping
  • not too irritating (something people around you may want to listen at 100% of their volume by mistake)
  • Creative Commons Zero

Out of competition, but in our hearts

Good candidate for your private installation, maybe not for core:

Why this at all? Can we close this thread entirely right now?

If you mean that the root problem is not clear to you, I can further improve the description.

The goal is to baptize Phorge with a new brand-new Sound, and, with just the right Sound, immediately outperform all other rival software. Example:

D25079: Trigger: Add Sound "Coin"

What is the criteria for determining the intentions of various accounts and banning?

Are there any accounts that hinder notifications and general progress intentionally or is it hard to tell?

$1.25USD bet says @valerio.bozzolan or @Cigaryno has some weird connection to Salesforce or Jira or Mantis

It's easy for me to win $1.25USD from you. But, the only thing that I would like from you, is to understand whenever you like this:

F270656

If yes, it was proposed here:

D25079

You are welcome

Most of the cases we've seen, bad accounts just added their marketing material directly in the account Profile page, and it was pretty obvious. Maybe one or two created tasks.

But I feel your pain about too-many-notifications. Maybe we should check if there's something we can do - e.g., I think that when a revision is landed, we'd get 3 emails - about the revision, about the task, and about the commit itself, plus about "related tasks".

We need to check: Do we need to list these audio files in some source-listing/contribution list?

Legally? nope. I picked an audio file under Creative Commons Zero (CC0) - public domain, exactly to avoid this problem.

Ethically? yes.

I can propose to create a new small "Multimedia Credits" Diviner page under Flavor texts

https://we.phorge.it/book/flavor/

By the way in this exact moment that @aklapper is landing tons of useful stuff and closing tons of reports I imagine Phorge like "dlin dlin dlin dlin", but sadly this Task is already opened.

(To understand what I'm saying, look at the video with audio, in task description)

Perhaps a single new sound is enough to change the world.
