This question might be related to Q56.
I want to create a personal Herald rule which informs me about activity in an observed repository, e.g. someone just pushed new commits, created a branch, a tag etc.
So my impression was to just create a new personal Herald rule of type "Commits", then select "Repository is any of rTEST", "Send me an email".
This does not work however, I don't receive any emails via this rule (other phorge emails work). Using the test console for rTEST, it tells me that there are no rules. For rTEST<hash> it displays that the rule in question would fire (however in practice it does not). I'm currently pushing to a branch which is not a permanent ref if this is important. The same is happening for rules of type "Commit Hook: Branches/Tags/Bookmarks" (no emails if a new branch is pushed/deleted etc).
I also have a personal rule of type "Commit" with condition "Auditors include all of: me", "repository is any of rTEST", action: "send email to rule author", and this rule never worked but I did not bother to pursue the issue.
Either personal rules do not work in my installation or I am missing something here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
