If you love Milestones, you probably have noticed that, if you click on the {nav icon=pencil, if you click on thename=Edit} Edit menu on a Milestone, from its Workboard, like in this screenshot:
{F253457, size=full}
YouThen you are then not able to edit its name.
For example, this is the edit page of a normal Column:
{F253458, size=full}
This is the edit page of a Milestone (see that there is not the Name text field):
{F253460, size=full}
To edit a Milestone nameSo, in factto edit the name of a Milestone, at the moment, users must know the internal difference between normal Columns and Milestones, to then understand that, to then understand that a Milestone is handled as a Project, and so, its name must be changed from the Project edit form.
TL;DR this Task is about trying to have more visual uniformity in a Workboard, and so, an user should be able to rename a Milestone, just as quickly as any other normal Column (if the user has permissions to do so).
== Proposed change ==
When the user is editing a Milestoneon a Workboard, instead of showing just the points,trying to edit a Milestone; show also a "Milestone name" fieldinstead of showing just the Points, like in this proposed solution (as proof of concept I'm also showing that the we could show also a "Milestone name validation should be still visibleName" field, in case):like in this proposed solution:
{F253462, size=full}
Please compare the above Mileston with the below Column(As proof of concept I'm also showing that the Milestone name validation should be functional, in case.)
Please compare the new Milestone edit form above, with the already-existing Column edit form below:
{F253458, size=full}
I think this is a thing that several users expect. And I think we can achieve this goal.
In this way,
