After this changeSometime (always?), the cover image is finally always visible to others (people who can see the Task),when you Drag & Drop an Image from your computer to
instead of beinga Workboard Task, the File is not visible only to yourselfto other Task participants.
Example conversation before this change:
- Anna: (uploads a nice Cover Image on the TaskI sincerely don't remember from what moment this happened, using drag & drop from the Workboard)but I'm quite
- Bob: Thanks! But I cannot see that imagesure that this is not a new thing from Phorge.
There is an "attach" system. Please change visibilitySo we attach the File to the Task.
- Anna: Ouch! So, How?the File inherits the visibility permissions of the Task.
- Bob: I don't know. So, the File is automagically visible to persons who can see the Task.
Fortunately, Try Files > your File > Edit > Set Visibility > Something that includes "Bob"the Attach system works perfectly also for Transformed images.
- Anna: Done.If you change permissions of a file, Do you see my image now?also its Transforms inherits these.
So, (Spoiler: it's a green pepper)we make sure that the Workboard image (Transform image) is not generated
- Bob: Yes and no. I mean, I can seeas an orphan but is always linked to the original file,e.
Before:
1. but not fromthe original image (mentioned in the Workboard.Task history)
- Anna: Uh? - held default permissions of the File application, so, Have you tried refreshing your cache?visible only to the author
- Bob: Yes. - if you change their permissions, Still invisible from Workboard.they don't change the Cover image permissions (super-confusing)
- Anna: Maybe you have to change Defaults P - becomes visible tuning its permissions of the "Files" Application, or, causing a manual attach (but visible only directory, to have "All Users"not from Workboard)
- Bob: That is a bit invasive. Let's try. I changed the Files policy globally2. Try re-uploading your image again.the Cover image (internal Transform shown from Workboard)
- Anna: Done. - held default permissions of the File application, so, Do you see it now?visible only to the author
- Bob: Yes! I can - it was tricky to finally see it nowd that File ID to tune Cover image permissions, also from the Workboard.maybe easy only for a DBA
Example conversation aAfter this change::
- Anna: (uploads a nice Cover Image on the Task, using drag & drop from the Workboard)
Done! So, after this change, everything works as expected1. Every task participant can see thatthe original image,
and nobody starts a nonsense conversation, and nobody needs to do random experiments with - attached to the Task
default application policies.
So - so, after this change:
-if you can see the original file is attached to the TaskTask, you can see this File and its Transforms
- the cover image is not orphan anymore,2. but mentioned in the "Transforms" of the original fileCover image
- the cover image so now inherits the orig - it's final file policies
So, Task participants can finally see that coverly recognized as Transform of the original image (transform)- as such, since it comes from a file, inherits its permissions
and that file is attached to the Task, and since they can see that - so, it's visible to Task.
