Contributor Agreement (UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
Updated 3 Days Ago

Preamble
This page is only a stub and is under construction. Only read this page if you are ready to sustain all the unapproved phings here. Feel free to edit of you want to add more information.

Phorge is a nice community. The problem is: collaboration is a pain. Example risk: any new contributor could introduce a copyright violation ("in good faith" of course), but that is really not acceptable, and we need your help and concentration to avoid similar risks.

Thanks for reading carefully. In an earlier version there was I give my house to Phorge, and some people signed. If you sign, you agree. Full stop.

Respecting Copyright

I'm a nice person and I respect other people's copyright.

When something is on the Internet without any note, I assume that as "all rights reserved" and I do not use that in Phorge.

In any case, I try to be nice with others, quoting contents from the Internet with their copyright notes. For example:

  • I don't steal code from StackOverflow: I mention the original URL and the license and the author's name etc.
  • I don't steal images from Wikimedia Commons: I mention the original URL and the license and the author's name etc.

Original Contributions

I'm a lovely creative collaborative contributor! So, as default, please assume my contributions as a personal original creation, result of my astonishing originality.

Therefore, assume my creative contributions (comments, texts, etc.) under my copyright, and - to enable collaboration - of course assume as default that I release all my contributions under a Free license.

I read the Apache 2.0 license, and I liked it very much. It therefore covers my creative source code contributions in Phorge, as default.

https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

I've also read the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (CC BY-SA) 4.0 license, and I liked it very much. It therefore covers my creative contents in Phorge, as default.

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/

In addition, my creative contents are also released under Apache 2.0, so that everything is super-compatible with Phorge.

Examples:

  • as default, my Differential patches and my git commits are all released under Apache 2.0.
  • as default, my comments (in any Phorge area), my screenshots of Phorge, my test plans, my contributions in Wiki Phriction, Diviner, Ponder, Calendar, are released under CC BY-SA 4.0 and also under Apache 2.0.

No Personal Data

I'm really aware that in Phorge I only input public information, and not personal data to be protected with the lives of a thousand Klingon lawyers.

Example of my data that is not considered here a personal data but rather public info and why:

DataReason
git nameUseful to allow other people to contact me.
git emailUseful to allow other people to contact me.
Phorge emailUseful to receive notifications and reset links. For commodity reasons it's somehow not disclosed, but one day our database could be hacked, and my email will be published, and I'm OK with this feature.
